In general, for the “current” xenos in the story, it would be possible to reproduce, but they’re also kept under certain meds that would prevent this.
in the later iterations (like THE VOID) they’ve been sterilized by restricting the development of certain glands.
in general, for the control needed, they SHOULDN’T be able to reproduce themselves, it would allow more variety, more chances to evolve and more independency.
still, there’s nothing about exactly what happened between Alpha and Ivory in the story that’s “100% canon” (I’m talking about the nsfw Patreon mini comic)*

I feel like Daniel keeps slipping into that attitude, but despite not really respecting the Xenos as equals, he does have genuine affection for them and sincerely desires their well-being.
Grouchy lady, meanwhile, is 100% secure in her belief that the Xenos are disposable, replaceable tools, and any action on their part that doesn’t conform to this identity she projects onto them is a flaw to be corrected.
