Also why does it seem like the machine ISN’T working the way Wally thinks it is? Alpha seems like he’s being protected by those spirits of Laura and Ivory holding him in place.
Wonder if it has anything to do with what seems like Laura showing up whenever he’s suffering?
I went back to fact check against the comic this time. There’s been, that I found, two instances of adult Laura appearing before Alpha to guide him, but is it really her? Or is it something, or someone else posing as her?

after all,he thinks he is clear from all this «mess»,and he think he is finally win on this round and finally tries to «stabilize» Alpha with the Conditioning process and Neuroplasty device around him,he think he can finally relax and focus on his little experiments,He think he can make Alpha kneel before him like others like Ivory and Laura did,even possibility even use her for conditioning too……what a moron he is….but oh boy! The only reason the machine may not have the effect that Wally believes it will, and he has no reason to believe it wouldn’t work at this point, is because of whatever those «spirits» of Laura and Ivory are that appear to be trying to keep Alpha from moving.
The only evidence that -might- point toward them trying to help Alpha is the fact that he’s trying to move and they’re stopping him from doing so.
Guess we gotta wait and see if the next pages clears anything up, or if it just creates more questions.
