You’d have thought if they were tossing her in with mice, SOMEONE would have thought to update the food dispenser to actually recognize her species and dispense the right food.

Then again, we’ve seen time and again that the humans of this world don’t tend to care about anything that isn’t human(and some don’t even care about fellow humans).

Then again…ferrets eat meat. Maybe they didn’t update the machine on purpose.

If she doesn’t find something quickly enough, all those mice might start looking rather appetizing to her.

What makes xeno food different from pet food?

Not much different from pet food. But Xenos requirements might be different so their food is designed for optimal nutrition. But technically they could eat pet food too.
