I find it interesting and kind of hard to read how this machine works at time. It can download an entire education into an empty mind. It can subtly manipulate dreams to enforce certain behaviors. But for that last one, it seems like it still needs some work and might be less effective on certain individuals. Weird. this fits so well into the Cutus comics. Wally gone. Pretty sure freeing Laura before releasing Ivory from the device will prove to be a huge mistake.
She was showing intense jealousy and anger because of Alpha seeming to care more about Laura than her.
Jealousy and anger that will have been getting magnified by the device currently playing with her head.
The device can use ANY strong emotions to condition its victims.
Further tests would have eventually revealed that, but Dr Wally rushed and now he’s paid the ultimate price.
I’m just basing this on a theory, of course.
The machine most likely forces you to relieve memories while looking for the person the victim trusts the most, then presents a warped version that does the actual conditioning.
Alpha, as we saw, saw “Laura” whom convinced(conditioned) him to fight back against the Consortium.
Ivory is probably seeing “Daniel”.
And Laura, whom we saw begging her father to help her, more than likely saw a twist version of him telling her to just give up and obey.
