Only explanation for why they don’t want Alpha to know about her. They know damn well what will happen should he find out she’s still alive, especially now that he thinks he killed her.
I’m not looking forward to the eventual reveal of what’s been happening to Laura since we last saw her, though she’s likely going to be mentally broken beyond repair.
