I seriously have to question just how smart the scientists of the Consortium are?
I mean, fear can be a powerful thing. But it can potentially also be a dangerous thing. I mean, what if a xenoe wound up with a abusive ownership and kept triggering these safety measures at an alarming rate?
Sounds like we’re seeing the start of the program that made the mental programming safeguard for the mass-produced civilian models of the xenoes.
From how it was described, it sounds like it was never considered how outside stimula for a long time might have an effect on that programming and the mind being under that pressure.
It does seem like it’d only take one word for Berit to lose her strength in this situation though.
A simple, pleading, cry for “mommy”, the voice sounding like an emotionally broken version of her Laura’s voice might just be enough to shatter Berit’s will into pieces.
